Hikes/walks/talks
Activities can range from an easy walk with a naturalist to a plant
sale to a more vigorous hike. For example, Hellhole
Canyon is known and appreciated among hikers for it steep and challenging
hiking trails. Some Network activities may include a naturalist that
can answer questions about animal tracking, area geology, our cultural
history or San Diego County’s unique natural resources. For example,
the Back Country Land Trust hosts approximately 10
walks throughout the year, which bring in a combined 200 people. Their
annual native plant sale brings a native plant nursery to East County
and educates 75 people about landscaping with natives each year. Check
each member’s website for more details.
